After breakfast, transfer to Halong and take the opportunity to view this stunning landscape on the way from Hanoi to Halong. Board your significant junk for an overnight cruise. Today, take a journey along the coast, past the beautiful beach of Lang Co and over the Hai Van Pass, stop in Da Nang for a visit to the Cham Museum and handicraft villages on the foot of Marble Mountain before arriving in Hoi An. Hoi An, the charming river port of Hoi An, there should be time for an introductory tour of this ancient town. Recently declared a World Heritage Site, Hoi An is being beautifully restored and preserved.

After hearty breakfast, cycle out into the countryside through rice paddies and arrive at the village of Tra Que, where you’ll be introduced to the history of the village and take part in the Cooking Class to learn about the secrets of Vietnamese cuisine. Later, return to Hoi An and board a river cruise to meet the local fishermen and enjoy the experience of river net fishing with the locals, before paddling a unique bamboo basket boat as you explore the area’s coconut palmed waterways

After breakfast, today commence with a visit to the infamous Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, the torture headquarters of the Khmer Rouge. Later, watch a traditional shadow puppet performance.

The ship sails a full day on the narrow, winding Tonle Sap River, take picture in mind with a rare glimpse of rural river life in Cambodia. Upon reaching the floating village of Kampong Chhnang you board a private excursion boat for a scenic cruise, where you observe the locals living, working, and even shopping on the river. Enjoy a beautiful sunset while sailing back to the Mekong, watching local children on the riverbanks bidding us farewell as we continue our journey. Please note during certain high and low water conditions, government authorities will not allow us to sail to Kampong Chhnang. During these departures, a visit to the silk weaving village of Preak Bang Kong will be substituted. Preak Bang Kong is a traditional village, famous for their woven silk products. Take a walking tour to a local home “farm,” where the worms are raised, the silk is handspun and dyed, and women weave the silk thread into fabrics on traditional looms. The homes selected are an excellent place for a little shopping.

Enjoy spectacular views of the Mekong from Wat Hanchey, before receiving a traditional Buddhist Water Blessing from the resident monks. Admire Phnom Pros and Phnom Srei as well as the preaching Buddha, before concluding with a visit to the complex of Wat Nokor Bachey.
